CAL EXPRESS FALL SHORT TO THE SOCKERS

TURLOCK,CA (December 20th, 2019) Arturo Pulido opened up the night in front of his home crowd with a banger past the Sockers (4-1) keeper giving Turlock an early lead. But the endless efforts of  Luis “Pee Wee” Ortega who scored twice in favor of San Diego is what gave the Sockers a 6-5 victory over the Cal Express (3-2) tonight.

With Pulidos goal on the board and Cal Express up by one the opening quarter ended on a positive note for Turlock.

The Sockers entered the 2nd hard and dominated the quarter with two goals. Leonardo de Oliveria and Eduardo Velez each found the back of the net taking them into the half with the lead.

Luis Brambila found a one on one opportunity in front of the keeper and went for it rewarding the Cal Express with another one on the boards and a tied game. The tie was short lived after Leonardo de Oliveira returned for more and retook the lead for the Sockers.

Unhappy with the last goal, The Cal Express tightened up their defense and began working offensively. Adrian “Kiko” Gutierrez controlled the middle and fed Luis Brambila and Gerardo Jurado who scored each giving Turlock their 2nd lead of the game in the 3rd.

The final 15 minutes of play showcased goals from Luis “Pee Wee” Ortega and Travis Pittman that extended their lead by two.

With less than 5 minutes left, Turlock swapped their keeper with a 6th attacker. This move paid off when ivan Campos volley one in past Pardo trimming down the Sockers lead, Unfortunately Cal Express ran out of time and weren’t able to come back from.
