MESQUITE OUTPLAY THE CAL EXPRESS

TuURLOCK,CA (January 18th, 2020) Anthony Powell scored the game winning goal tonight for the Mesquite Outlaws (4-5), dropping Turlock to an overall record of 3-7 in the Western Conference.

Turlock entered tonight’s match after a devastating 5-4 defeat last night against the remaining undefeated Monterrey Flash.

Despite the little rest, The Cal Express were able to open up the scoreboard with a goal by Ivan Rios (Matt Germain). Rios goal was his first of the season and was the only one seen in the first quarter.

The Visiting team began to high pressure the Cal Express and it worked in their favor as Anthony Powell shot one in past Edgar Martinez which tied things up 1-1.

Halfway into the second quarter one goal from each side was seen once more leveling the game. Martyn Arista (Ivan Campos) got one in for Cal Express while Vcor Eligwe scored for the Outlaws.

The second half was just as intense as the first two quarters with multiple goals scored. Juan Manuel Rojo tied the game up for the third time tonight after the Outlaws retook the lead for a few minutes.

With time running out, Mesquite played harder than the northern team scoring twice that ended the game 5-3 in favor of the Texas team.

Turlock will now prepare for another double header, one game on the road and the following at home. Make sure to follow the Cal Express on all social media platforms to stay up to date with all current team news.
