No Luck in Southern California for the Express


 (ONTARIO, CA. February 4th, 2017)--- Turlock Express (5-11) arrived Saturday night to an anxious crowd at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, Home of the Ontario Fury (7-7 ) searching for a win on the road. Turlock however had no luck against the Fury taking a 15-5 loss. 


With an abundance of youth teams waiting to see what the MASL is all about, the opening period began with a strong start on behalf of Ontario Fury who made sure to pressure and attack when the chance was given. 


After various attempts from both The Fury and Express, Defender Adrian Pulido saw the opportunity up top, carried, passed, received it back and scored giving Turlock the lead in the first quarter. 


In less than 2 minutes, Juan Gonzalez assisted by Maicon De Abreu made things interesting with a goal for the Fury making it a 1-1 game. Fury took this opportunity to get 2 additional goals in before the end of the first quarter. Fury Goals were made by “Chico” Francisco Cordeiro and Leonardo De Oliveira. 


The Fury did not look back securing a big lead against Turlock throughout the remainder of the game. Express struggled defensively that ultimately resulted in the 15-5 loss. Despite the goal gap, a total of 4 goals were made in favor of Express. 2 goals by Jorge Carmona and Martyn Arista in the 2nd quarter and another 2 by Arturo Pulido and Adrian Plascencia in the 4th.


The man of the night for Ontario Fury was “Chico” Francisco Cordeiro who had a total of 4 goals. Nick Perera who is a key player for the Fury focused tonight on passing and setting up plays that contributed to the scoreboard. Perera had a total of 3 assists and a goal. 


Turlock concludes the road games for this 2016-17 season with only 4 games left at home. Express will host Soles de Sonora on Friday, February 10th at Turlock Indoor Soccer.
