So Close but So Far away for Turlock

(TURLOCK, CA. December 15th, 2017)--- The RGV Barracudas (2-6) arrived in Turlock, Ca Friday night to pay a visit to The Express (2-6) after their last encounter a couple weeks back where Turlock took a 11-7 victory home. Tonight however, The Barracudas came out strong and aggressive wanting to avenge their previous loss and did just that by defeating the Express 8-6 in an intense match.

The start up goal that got things rolling tonight was by Fernando Moreno Elizondo from the RGV Barracudas that gave the Southwest team an early lead. Luck then jumped over to Turlock’s side with not one but two shoot outs that were both taken and executed by Turlock’s leading scorer Ivan Campos. Such goals pushed the Express to a 2-1 lead over RGV.

Ismael Pineda found the net at 9:47 that tied things up to end the opening quarter with a 2-2 score.

Future goals in the 2 following quarters were made for the Barracudas by Julio Hernandez, Salvador Luna, and Antonio Manfut.

Turlock goals were made possible by Adrian Plascencia, Barsin Eisavi and Jorge Carmona to end the third quarter with a 6-6 tied score. The game started to shift in favor of RGV in the final quarter with a goal by Jorge Quiroz. The one goal difference pushed the Express to swoop out their keeper and use a 6th attacker with less than 3 minutes left in the match. Fernando Moreno returned with the game winning goal for the Barracudas that sealed the deal for the night .

Turlock will now travel to Southern California for a Sunday evening match against the San Diego Sockers. The live game can be viewed on MASL.tv.  Make sure you are following The Express on all social media platforms to stay updated with future games.
