Soles Visit Turlock

(TURLOCK, CA. February 8th, 2017)--- Turlock Express (5-11) with only 4 games left in the 2016-17 season will host Southwest Division leaders Soles de Sonora at home Friday, February 10th at Turlock Indoor in Northern California.

Turlock will go into this week’s matchup as the only scheduled game for week 16 in the MASL opposed to Soles De Sonora who have a rough few games ahead of them.

Soles will start off their road trip this week on Thursday February 9th in Southern California to face Ontario Fury. The following day they will travel to Northern California to take on your Turlock Express and then conclude their 3 game series back in Mexico against Atletico Baja.

Looking back to the first few games of the season on November 12th marked the last time Soles and Express played against each other in El Centro de Usos in Mexico. A total of 33 goals were scored that night however, the ultimate winner of the match was Soles who took a 18-15 win over Turlock.

Express has been the only MASL team who has scored 15 goals on Sonora in a single game with season. Soles being the team to beat in the Major Arena Soccer League currently hold a 12 win 2 loss record that is the overall best record in the league so far this season.

Turlock in preparation for Friday night’s matchup will look to limit Sonora’s offensive attacks who are lead by Franck Tayou. Tayou has an impressive 41 goal record that has landed him on Player of the week and as a leading scorer in the league.

Alongside Tayou is now Mauricio Salles who recently was signed onto the Soles roster and has a total of 4 goals in a 2 game span. Hiram Ruiz has also been an active asset for Sonora up top with various goals that have left the MASL community at awe.  

Leading on Offense for Turlock will be a combination of 3 players, Martyn Arista who has 17 goals and 7 assists, Adrian Gutierrez with 12 goals and 8 assists and Matthew Germain with 12 goals and 7 assists. Jose Martinez will be a huge component for Turlock’s defense. Martinez has a total of 19 blocks with some being key saves that prevented goals against Express.
