STARS PASS UP THE EXPRESS IN THE 4TH
(TURLOCK, CA., March 10th, 2019)— The Express and The Stars met at the Accesso ShoWare Center one last time this weekend to close out week 15 in the MASL after Tacoma took both wins during their 2 game series with a final score of 10- 6 tonight.
The Tacoma Stars started off with an early goal by Joseph Cairel 2 minutes into the opening quarter, while continuing to look for further opportunities to increase their lead.
The second goal of the night came for Tacoma in the final minutes of the 1st that pushed them into the following quarter with a 2-0 lead.
The Express trailing by 2, had a better quarter in the second both offensively and defensively with two impressive goals that tied things up at the Accesso ShoWare Center. The first was by Omar Tapia followed by Adrian Gutierrez who blast one in pass the Stars Goalkeeper.
With less than 2 minutes in the first half, The Stars found the perfect opportunity to pull away from the tied score of 2-2 with a goal by Adam West that took them into the half with a one goal lead over the Express.
The Express entered the third still fighting to get back in the game and did just that with three goals that tied things up once more and had both teams enter the final minutes of play looking to take back the lead. After a few back and forth goals, The Stars were able to pull away once more and score 4 goals that gave them the 10-6 win.
Mike Ramos had yet another great game with a hat trick tonight while Nick Perera had 2 goals and 2 assists. Omar Tapia still showed a great performance tallying two goals for Turlock.
The Express will remain on the road next week as they head to visit the SouthWest division. Friday’s match against the Coyotes will be live on MASLTV for viewing.
