Turlock ends season with pair of wins over Sockers 2

Turlock Cal Express closed out their Major Arena Soccer League 2 season last weekend with a pair of victories against defending champion San Diego Sockers 2. With the pair of wins Cal Express (3-9-0) jumped ahead of Sockers 2 (2-9-1) to finish in fifth place of the West Division.

Eduardo Zamudio and Omar Duran each scored twice in the weekend opener to help Turlock to a 9-7 victory. Adrian Zavala, Luis Torres, Anthony Valencia, Joaquin Raya and Ivan Rios also scored for Cal Express. Ulysses Rodriguez earned the victory in net.

The second night played out very similar to the first with the game evenly played through three quarters. That's when the Cal Express offense took over, outscoring San Diego 6-1 to make the final score 12-6.

Zavala led the way in this game with two goals and two assists. Valencia and Duran also scored a pair while Ricardo Garcia chipped in with a goal and two assists. Armando Fernandez, Matt Max, Luis Cortez, Jamie Carbajal and Rios each found the back of the net for Turlock.
