TURLOCK WINS IN OT

(TURLOCK, CA., February 1st, 2019)— After two previous intense games played in Turlock Indoor against the Fury, The Turlock Express were able to get their win tonight in Overtime with a shootout goal made by Martyn Arista that closed out the game 8-7.

The Turlock Express began the night with the opening goal by Adrian Plascencia (Jorge Carmona) in the first 6 minutes of play. The Fury did not hold back with a counter goal a few minutes later that tied the game.

The second quarter Express found a total of two goals made by Jorge Carmona and Arturo Pulido that gave them a 3-1 lead into the third. Ontario had various opportunities during the 2nd but the Express was able to play defense accordingly and deny any possible opportunities.

In the third no additional goals were seen from either Pacific Division teams but Turlock after having to sub out their starting goalkeeper Edgar Martinez  in the first half with Martin Sanchez, were faced with a difficult decision to make after Sanchez suffered an injury in the 4th.

Defender Adrian Pulido put on goalie gloves and headed into the box after the Express was left with no goalkeeper and only had a one goal advantage on the board.

The Express made sure to extend that lead with 4 unanswered goals. This gave them a 7-2 lead with only 8:42 remaining in the match. The Fury who currently sits in the second spot in the Pacific Division did not shut down racing against the clock looking to get back in the game.

At 9:38 the first of 5 Fury Goals was seen by Victor Quiroz who had 3 goals tonight. After Turlock had the lead all game, Evan McNeley scored the equalizer that took things into OT with 22 seconds left in the game.

Martyn Arista was the player of the night that sealed the deal and bagged Turlock Express first win this season after Carlos Manzo was fouled in the box drawing up a shootout.

The Express will enter week 11 with a win as they host the San Diego Sockers at Home next Friday at 7:05pm. Tickets are available online at Turlockexpress.com.
