UPSETTING OT LOST FOR THE CAL EXPRESS

TURLOCK,CA (December 6th, 2019) The Turlock Cal Express (2-1) hosted the Tacoma Stars (1-1) at home this Friday night looking to extend their winning streak but fell short in OT as the Stars take a  5-4 win back home.

Cal Express began the match a little less aggressive than usual against the Stars. This lead to an early error in the back after not being able to clear the ball.

Tacoma used this opportunity to trap them in, as Michael Ramos shoots the ball hits a Turlock defender and found its way in giving the Stars an early lead.

Being in this spot before, The Cal Express got things going and were able to equalize the game in minute 9 of the opening quarter after Ivan Campos gives a ball to Adrian Pulido who signs it off.

They finished the first quarter tied 1-1 but Turlock made sure not to repeat previous mistakes dominating with two goals that put them ahead into the half by Gerardo Jurado and Arturo Pulido.

The Stars, Alex Caceres turned the game completely around after he was the only one to find the back of the net in the third. His two goals put the stars up top once more.

With the final minutes of play passing by, and Turlock still trailing behind Tacoma, Adrian ‘Kiko” Gutierrez received a fast ball on the ground by Martyn Arista and shot one in on the left upper corner past Danny Waltman tying things back up.

Less than 3 minutes remained in the 4th with a tied game but were not enough for either team to make anything else happen pushing things into OT.

Cal Express gained possession early on in Extra time and were able to put themselves in a positive positions with shots on frame taken in various plays but just did not go in pass Danny Waltman.

With extra time running out and Turlock throwing away a powerplay opportunity were not able to hold on after Adam West found an opening, took the shot and placed it right in the corner for the winning goal.

Turlock did not get the result they wanted tonight but will continue to work hard as they host the Soles de Sonora next Friday. Tickets are available all week long at Turlock Indoor.
