CAL EXPRESS GIVE THE FLASH THEIR 8TH CONSECUTIVE WIN


MONTERREY,MX (January 6th, 2020) Hugo Puentes lead the Monterrey Flash to their 8th straight win with a 6-3 victory over the Cal Express in Monterrey.


Tonights opening Goal came in the final two minutes of the 1st after a blue card was issued against Turlock. 


With a one man advantage, The Flash moved the ball and found the open opportunity half way into their Power Play when Erick Jhon Ponce gives Hugo Puentes a fast ball by the post and Puentes side kicks it in. 


The Cal Express did not score in the first 15 minutes but made sure to start the second quarter stronger. A battle by the wall between Adrian “Kiko” Gutierrez and a Flash defender resulted in a loose ball that landed by Jorge Carmonas feet. Carmona shoots it into the wall and lands perfectly in the middle of the box where Joaquin Raya puts it away equalizing the game. 


A tied game was seen until the last 6 minutes of the second when Monterrey dribbled the ball pass the middle of the field and found Victor Quiroz in the corner. Quiroz blasted the ball in the corner past Turlock’s goalkeeper retaking the lead for the Flash. 


Hugo Puentes found his second goal with 3:55 left on the clock and gave Monterrey a 3-1 lead at halftime. 


Down by 2 goals, Anibal Echeverria received a ball from Goalkeeper Edgar Martinez and quickly advanced. Echeverria unselfishly passes to teammate Gerardo Jurado in hopes of getting past the goalkeeper but gets closed down by the Monterrey defense. 


The second half of the match was an all Flash effort with Hugo Puentes scoring a hat trick despite a last minute goal by Turlock. 


Goals from Erick Rosas and Oscar Luis Cortez helped tally a 6-3 victory over the Cal Express. 


Turlock will conclude week 7 on the road as they visit the Tacoma Stars Friday night. Watch the game live on MASLtv.
