Devastating loss at home for Turlock

(TURLOCK, CA. November 10th, 2017)--- For their second home game of the season, Turlock hosted The Tacoma Stars at Turlock Indoor Soccer in the heart of California. Tacoma Stars switched the outcome this time around taking a 7-3 win in Turlock property avenging their loss last season pushing Express to a 0-3 record.

The first half of the match was completely dominated by the Stars who shut Turlock out 7-0 in the first two quarters of the night. The Stars came out in full attack mode powered by Philip Lund who had three goals. Joseph Cariel opened up the night for Tacoma unassisted while Alex Megson, Dan Antoniuk and Joey Gjertsen each had a goal.

Danny Waltman denied any opportunity that Turlock created in the first two quarters by blocking all 9 shots that their Pacific division rival took. Martin Sanchez who was the starting keeper for Turlock tonight wasn’t so lucky in the box like Waltman. 23 shots were taken in quarter 1 and 2 by Tacoma in which 7 made their way in. After ending the opening half with no goals and trailing by 7,Turlock took the Halftime break to re strategize. Turlock began by changing their Goalkeeper Martin Sanchez for Santos Arteaga who was also making his debut in tonight's match after taking a few seasons off.

With the drastic change and fully energized, Ivan Campos put the Express on the board with an unassisted goal in the first 13 seconds of the quarter. The Express turned their luck around in the last two quarters of the match with strong defensive plays that ultimately kept the Stars at the 7 goal mark for the remainder of the match unable to score again.

Turlock had 34 shots while Tacoma only had 10 in quarters 3 and 4 but just couldn’t seal the deal with these opportunities. Although Turlock had the ball rolling quick at the end, they ran out of time and were not able to come back resulting in a 7-3 loss over Tacoma.

Turlock will now travel next Friday to visit the Stars looking for their first win of the season as they add this loss to their record.
