DOUBLE HEADER AT HOME FOR CAL EXPRESS
TURLOCK,CA (January 16th, 2020) The Turlock Cal Express welcome two Western Division
teams this weekend in Turlock at their home field.
Friday will kick off the double header against the Monterrey Flash from Mexico followed by a
Saturday game against the Texas Mesquite Outlaws.
Fridays match has a 7:05 pm start time and will be the last time both teams face off in regular
season.
The Flash hosted the Cal Express last Monday in Monterrey and took a 6-3 Victory.
Hugo Puentes was the star of the night keying in three goals in three different quarters that
doubled the score at the end of the match.
Monterrey will join Turlock on the field for their third game in week 9 after hosting and visiting
the Fury.
An advantage for the Cal Express will be having Juan Gonzalez back on the pitch after he was
out for a couple weeks due to injury. Gonzalez has played a big role in the first games of the
season where they secured their three wins that placed them high on the leading boards.
After four consecutive losses, Fridays match against the Flash and Saturdays against the
Outlaws are very important if they want to get back in the top three in the Western Division.
The Outlaws who are new to the Major Arena Soccer League are ranked 5 th just above the Cal
Express.
They enter Saturdays match with top leaders Jamie Lovegrove (8G,4A) Vcmor Eligwe (7G,4A)
and Anthony Powell (6G,4A).
Mesquite currently holds a 70% penalty kill percentage while converting 21% of their
powerplays.
Although the Cal Express has not played against the Texas team, yet they are preparing for a
tough match as the Outlaws have made top teams work for their close victories over them.
Start time for Saturdays game will be at 6:05pm. Tickets are available for purchase at Turlock
Indoor or game day. The match will also we live on MASLtv.
