Express fall short to the Sidekicks

(Allen, Texas. January 14, 2017)--- Turlock Express (5-8) after last night’s victory over El Paso Coyotes headed to Dallas,Texas to wrap up this week’s double header games against The Dallas Sidekicks. Turlock was not so lucky this time around as an all out team effort from Dallas allowed them to end their 4 loss streak with a 12-5 win at home.

Turlock with back to back games faced a well rested Dallas team that truly showed energy in the opening period of tonight’s game. The match began with Cameron Brown passing his defender to open up a shot opportunity that could have gave the Sidekicks the opening goal.

Jorge Carmona however obtains the ball and counterattacks. Carmona passes to Express Defender Adrian Pulido who ultimately finds a small opening that surprised Dallas’ solid Goalkeeper Juan Gamboa, giving Turlock the 1-0 lead.

Midfielder Ricardinho assisted by Cameron Brown responded back with a goal of his own that tied the game up in the first quarter. Additional goals by both Dallas player Jamie Lovegrove and Turlock’s leading scorer Anibal Echeverria would end the opening quarter at 2-2.

Dallas took full control of the remaining quarters in both defense and offense playing a collective game in search of ball possession. Turlock gave up a total of 10 goals in the remaining quarters to the Texas team.

Nestor Hernandez who debuted his return to Dallas in tonight’s game fired up the crowd with 3 goals. Forward Vcmor Eligwe had his first career hat trick with 3 goals of his own that contributed to the Sidekicks Scoreboard that allowed the victory tonight in their favor.

Turlock will now travel to Washington to play Tacoma Stars next weekend as they finalize the last road trips of this MASL season.
