FURY DOMINATE 3 GAME SERIES
(TURLOCK, CA., January 3rd, 2019)— The Turlock Express (0-6 ) traveled up south to visit the Ontario Fury (6-2 ) to end their 3 game series tonight at the Citizens Bank Arena in hopes of a different outcome then the previous two games but were left empty handed after an all Fury 2nd half of 6 unanswered goals that pushed them into a 2-6 loss.
The Turlock Express who is known for having a hard time on bigger fields showed a different side tonight with a defensive show that limited the Fury’s offense up top.
Martin Sanchez who has been the starting keeper for the Express all 3 games against the Fury put on a show with multiple key saves that could have put Ontario on the Board early in the Opening Quarter.
Despite the many drawn out opportunities the Fury had, Turlock was able to push a 2 nothing lead in the first quarter with goals by Matthew Germain and Martyn Arista. These goals gave Turlock an early advantage that would continue into the 3rd as no goals were seen in the second quarter.
The final two quarters however were none that favored the Express. The first of 6 goals for Ontario came in the first moments of play in the 3rd by Dallin Cutler that lit the light for the Fury. But, the goal that really fired things up was by De Bray Holliman who blasted one in with an impressive upper 90 that Goalkeeper Martin Sanchez stood no chance with. This goal gave the Fury their first lead in the final quarter.
The additional goals that bagged the 6-2 win for Ontario were made by Maicon de Abreu (PK/SO), 2 by Juan Carlos Gonzalez and the final by Chris Toth who caught Turlock’s 6th attacker off guard.
The Express are now back at home tomorrow night as they host the San Diego Sockers at Turlock Indoor. Kickoff is at 7:05pm with tickets available for purchase online at Turlockexpress.com.
