San Diego remain undefeated with a Win against Turlock


(Turlock, CA. January 5th, 2017)--- Friday night, The Turlock Express (2-9) had their 6th home game of the season as The San Diego Sockers (8-0) traveled to Turlock to play one of the two games scheduled in week 11 in the MASL. After being one goal down at halftime, Turlock entered the third quarter with an aggressive start but wasn’t enough against the undefeated Pacific Division team and fell short to a score of 8-2. 


The first two goals that gave San Diego an early lead in the opening quarter were scored both by Luan Oliveira assists  by Erick Tovar and Andrew Lorei. 


Turlock’s first goal wasn’t seen until the 7th minute by Jose Barajas. Both MASL teams would battle it out fighting for possession but ended the first half 2-1 Sockers.


The third quarter was completely dominated by the Southern California team with 3 unanswered goals against the Express. Brandon Escoto and Erick Tovar each had one , with Luan Oliveira returning for his third goal of the night. The only additional goal that Turlock had was in the 4th quarter and was scored by Turlock’s leading scorer Ivan Campos. 


The man of the night was Luan Oliveira who had a total of 4 goals tonight against the Express.


Turlock is now off to San Diego to close out the weekend with a 5:05pm game in the Valley View Casino Center. The live game will be streamed on MASL.tv.
