THE STARS OUTSHINE THE EXPRESS IN THE 4TH

(TURLOCK, CA., March 8th, 2019)— After an intense close 3 quarters, the Tacoma Stars finished strong in the 4th to take a 9-5 win  over the Express.

The Express came out strong tonight by taking an early lead in the opening quarter against the Tacoma Stars just two minutes in when Douglas Lima received a pass from Omar Tapia and shot it in past the Goalkeeper.

Nick Perera who is known as the leading scorer for the Stars made sure to prove why he’s on top a few minutes later with the equalizer.

As we got closer to the end of the first, both teams began fighting to take the lead into the 2nd quarter but instead went in tied once again after Express scored with a goal by Omar Tapia assisted by Ivan Rios followed by another one by Nick Perera off an assist from Joseph Cairel.

In the third, Tacoma took the lead with two goals and didn’t look back finishing the final 15 minutes of play strong with an impressive performance by Michael Ramos on offense and by Goalkeeper Sanaldo who kept the Express from adding any additional goals to their score.

Michael Ramos was the man of the match contributing 5 of the 9 goals scored by the Stars tonight. Perera played a great part as well with 2 goals and 2 assists.

Although the final score did not fall in Turlock’s favor, Omar Tapia still had quite the night with 2 goals and one assist.

The Express will now travel to visit the Tacoma on Sunday to close out week 15 in the MASL. The game will be live for viewing on MASLTV on Maslsoccer.com.
