Turlock Outscore the Coyotes

(TURLOCK, CA. December 08th, 2017)--- Friday night The Turlock Express (2-5) hosted El Paso Coyotes (4-2) at Turlock Indoor Arena for their 3rd home game of the Season. The Express came into the match strong and aggressive in hopes of avenging their Overtime loss in Texas this past weekend and did just that by out scoring the Coyotes 9-6.

Turlock had their full squad ready for an action packed game that was started off by Martyn Arista who scored the first goal for Turlock assisted by Ivan Campos.  However the Southwest team was then able to get two goals past Turlock’s Keeper Edgar Martinez before Jose Barajas tied things up in the opening quarter.

Turlock couldn’t keep up with El Paso player Omar Tapia who shot one in after an off the wall pass by Manuel Rojas which ended the quarter with a 3-2 score in their favor.

The Express used every second of the running time in the break before the start of the second quarter to reset and get back into the game. A fully charged Express team was able to get 3 unanswered goals from Jorge Carmona, Jose Barajas and Martyn Arista to take the lead and head into the locker room for halftime.

Turlock had a total of 4 goals in the second half that ultimekty kept the Coyotes behind and pushed them into switching out their Goalkeeper Jesus Molina for a 6th attacker in hopes of cutting down the goal differential on the scoreboard and tying the game up but had no luck.

Key players for tonight’s match were Goalkeeper Edgar Martinez who had valuable saves that could have cost Turlock a few goals. Martyn Arista also was key for the win with 3 goals. Jose Barajas and Arturo Pulido each had two goals as well.

Turlock will now host RGV Barracudas next Friday night on December 15th on a 2 game winning streak. This upcoming home game will also be The Express Toys for Tots Drive. Donations will be accepted game day. Follow The Express on all social media platforms to stay updated with future games.
