Turlock unable to finish in the 4th

(TURLOCK, CA. November 17th, 2017)--- Turlock Express (0-4) visited Tacoma Stars (2-2) this Friday night on their second road game of the season taking place in the Accesso ShoWare Center. The Express battled it out with The Stars answering back to goals in the opening quarter and eventually taking a 4-3 lead at halftime. Despite the advantage, Tacoma came out strong in the final period of the match in full attack mode putting 3 goals in the net that were left unanswered by Turlock that ultimately allowed them to take the 8-5 victory over The Express. 

Turlock took the field knowing that tonight’s battlegrounds were bigger than what they are used to at home which helped strategize for the match. With a shift in plays, Turlock pressured the Stars for more than 180 seconds until Joey Gjertsen rushed one in with an assist by Cory Keitz that gave Tacoma fans the impression that the opening quarter would end with a 1-0 score. However, with only 8 seconds to spare, the man of the night for Turlock, Ivan Campos tied the game up unassisted. 

The second quarter was dominated by Turlock who finished it off with a 4-3 lead over Tacoma. The Stars initiated the goals with 2 from Vince McCluskey and Joseph Cairel. Ivan Campos didn’t have enough with his first goal and came back strong in the 2nd quarter with an additional 2. Matthew Germain joined the action for Turlock and blasted one in as well. 

Tacoma took over in the third with 2 goals that gave them the lead over Turlock once more. That then came crashing down when Ivan Campos scored his 4th goal of the night that tied the game 5-5. Turlock entered the last quarter defending the score and looking for any breakaways but failed against the fast Stars who trickled in 3 goals that secured the win.
